Reiki
Reiki is an ancient healing modality using universal life force energy to deliver healing light to any being that is open to receiving it. Though Reiki became popular in the early 1900s in Japan, Reiki likely originates from India during the time of the Vedas. Reiki has been known to strengthen the immune system, promote deep relaxation, bring relief from stress and anxiety, promote pain relief, and speed up recovery from an injury, among so much more! Reiki is not limited by time and space; therefore, Reiki can be practiced just as effectively from a distance as it can be in person.
What kind of Reiki sessions are available?
Reiki is most effective when held in 30-60 minute sessions. Though Reiki can be used as a one-time therapy for acute pain or conditions, for chronic conditions or deeply rooted emotional trauma Reiki is most successful when used repeatedly once a week to once a month.
What can I expect in a Reiki session?
A Reiki session is designed to be meditative and therapeutic. The client will want to be in a quiet and isolated environment, ideally with a place to lay fully down and with their head supported by a pillow. Though the session will be held over Zoom, the camera is not necessary to be on during the Reiki session. Audio capabilities, such as headphones or a speaker, are preferred.
Though the client may want to share information about why they have booked a Reiki session, it is not necessary. The Reiki practitioner will intuitively know where to guide the Reiki energy, and the Reiki energy will know where it is needed. Grace will guide the sitter into a meditative state, and then perform Reiki for the allotted time—the client need not do anything else!
Some clients report feeling tingling sensations in specific areas of the body or other sensations of temperature or muscle contractions. This is all normal! If you do not feel any sensations, that is normal, as well. Every body responds differently to Reiki energy.
After the session is finished, the client may feel lethargic or particularly emotional over the course of the next few days. The client should allow themselves to feel whatever comes up—this is a part of the healing process!
